Brown spots

Yesterday, my Gingersnap rose was beautiful with about 6 roses in different stages of opening. Today it has big brown spots on it. They are about the size of a quarter or smaller, dry and brown. We live in the NW and have not had much heat at all. Help!!!

Sounds like black spot (or some other fungal issue). I like neem oil, but use whatever dust or fungicide (broad spectrum, like Daconil) you are comfortable with...

Does the same apply to black spots on the leaves? I'm getting black spots, on the leaves, then they turn yellow, then fall off. But I don't get any spots on the rose itself.

Thanks for the reply, I thought it may have been an insect related problem, and have been using an insecticide. Will this cause any ill effects? and an you recomend a good fungicide.

Normally I like neem oil and use it as a preventitive, but I'd go to Daconil at this point...
