My New Tribute Garden

Image
I just wanted to chime in here because I am sure I will need a lot of help along the way .
I am not the best with roses .
My Mother passed away this winter and it was her wish to have her ashes placed into a rose garden (specifically long stem) but they will not do well in Michigan .
I decided to make this arbor and surround it with climbing roses instead .
So far it is doing well . I have 2 Climbing Blasé , an Iceberg and an Americana (salmon) .
I am dedicated to the success of this . Researched soil prep. and feeding .
This picture was taken just after the Roses were put into the ground .

This entire area is all new and was put in just this spring.
I am very proud of this and hope to see many wonderful things grow.
I placed my Mothers remains here this morning along with four packs of non-climbing flower seeds along the back fence.
I know she will be happy here O:)

How beautiful. I am certain your mother is so happy to see you doing this. I can't wait to see it when they start blooming!

How lovely. While I don't have experience with the other two, climbing "Blaze" is nearly indestructible, & that's coming from someone else who hasn't had the best of experiences successfully growing roses.

Here is a bit of an update !

Things took off pretty good this year !

I was sorta wondering - Am I supposed to cut back on the amount of 'buds' on the ends of the flowering branches ? These have been forming into clusters of flowers and they are pretty but get very heavy and weigh the plant branches down .
