Neglected roses

Hi all.
I have recently moved into a house which was untenanted for about a year and when I was cleaning up the front garden today I found these rose bushes. Adelaide has recently had a hot summer including two weeks straight of over 40C/110F followed by a change last week which dropped about 90mm of rain. The weather is now a pleasant 24 degrees and although we may have a few more hot days coming, I think the major summer craziness has finished.

So my question is what to do with these babies now? should I prune them, fertilise them or wait until winter and then do both? Or something else?

I'm not much of a green thumb so any advice is gratefully received.

Cheers,

Brett

I think the roses look pretty good considering they have been neglected. I would have the rosarians tell you when to prune. But first I would feed the roses to make sure they have enough energy stored after you cut all the leaves off.

Water and feed your roses.
