Pink rose tree with Red buds?

Is it possible for my rose tree to start budding with red buds when it is supposed to be a pink tree? I had lots of previous pink roses on it...and just recently pruned and removed the roses (as they were dying) and it looks like I may have at least one RED rose coming out.

Is it common for a rose tree/bush to change colors? All the other buds up until now started out pink and stayed bright pink.

Are the new buds coming from the rootstock maybe? I'm not sure otherwise. Might be you have one really cool rose.

Well, that rose really fooled me! It turned out to be pink after all...but it didnt look pink till it fully bloomed. It started to show more of a hot pink color once the bud got much bigger, but I was out there every day like a doof....seeing if it was going to bloom red!!

Thanks for the reply!
