The other was Hugh Dickson I think

I see you are in London. Could you take a rose with about 12" of stem with leaves, put it in a sealed transparent plastic bag, and take it to Kew Gardens? The sealed bag is very important in order to not infect their plants with any bug/disease the rose might be harboring. I'm sure they have several rosarians there that can help.
