Need ID please

This must have been in a can of old mixed butterfly garden seeds I dumped out. Feathery leaves and 4 yellow/slight orange petals.

I think it is California poppy.

You are both right! California poppy is Eschscholzia californica. Probably the first scientific name of a plant I ever learned. I grew up in Calif. where this is the state flower and my grandparents were named Shults, so Eschscholzia was easy to stick in mind.

Your on a role my friend. I have planted those seeds for a few years and they never showed up. I forgot I planted them. Very different leaf wise than my other poppies but now that I look at it....just a little thinner and later blooming.

Thanks to the rest of you! It was driving me nuts. The only plant I could not name in Missy' and my gardens.
