Plant ID help

Any idea what kind of tree tree this is? It blooms in the spring (April) and has purple foliage. In DC area (zone 7a).

Is it some sort of cherry blossom tree? New homeowner, so trying to figure out what's in the yard ha.

With purple foliage, I'm thinking some kind of a plum.

You're right -- it does appear to look like a plum variety.

I don't recall seeing any fruit, but we did move in towards the end of summer last year.

It looks like the blooms I had on my Nectarine tree. After the blooms fall off it should develop fruit.
