To cold to early for my solar greenhouse.

I planned on adding my double layer of plastic on my greenhouses this weekend but I am too late. 15 degree weather killed most of the plants I put in there. You have to have double plastic when it gets to 20 or lower or the water will not keep it above 32 degrees. The last time it was this cold in Pa. this early is in the early 1900's.. I won't see it till this weekend maybe the lettuce and peas are still alive!

yup, it's been totally fierce over much of the eastern half of the country. We've had temps in the single digits already and record cold for the date. Usually I would still be collecting fall leaves, but they are buried under snow already....

What a bummer! This is late December/January weather. My garden is pretty much shot, too.
I tried covering the onion/shallot bed with a double layer of 3 mil on Tues before the temp bottomed out here, but I'm not sure of the outcome since it was too windy to put down leaf mulch.

I hope some things are salvageable, Bobberman.
