I went out at 6 pm to check on my seedlings - ~105 degrees inside. I have a watering bin - 12' long by ~31" wide (it holds 21 1020 flats) and saw that lots of seedling trays needed water. Added 15 gallons to the res and then pumped it into the bin. About 1500 seedlings are now soaking up water and getting replenished!
This summer/fall, I want to build shelves, enough that I can handle 50+ 1020 trays, two of which I'll be able to flood with water. I'm sold on the Oasis Horticubes, the ones where 162 will fit in a 1020 tray. I wish I could find the 36-pack, deep cell nursery flats but ones that I can break into single cells. Fortunately, I have about 10 months to search!

Sound like it was pretty close to having a bunch
of cooked seedlings.
No fan??,, Open the door before you leave in the morning, better to be cool than cooked.

dave,
Both a fan, screen door and screens on the top of one side opposite the screen door. No cooked seedlings, but some did wilt. That won't hurt them - I've had hundreds of wilted seedlings in the past, many far worse than these.
When/if I rebuild/update this, I will have a vent in the highest point.

I'm not sure if these are scored to be separated or not but a few minutes and a pair of scissors could fix that.
If you'd consider 32 cells these are scored and deep cell.

Mike,
I'd like to see a picture of your water shelf. Mine is 21" by 12ft long. Holds 11 trays. Will be adding a second one this winter above the first.
