Drums Had Washer Fluid in Them

I have access to 6-55gal drums that had washer fluid. Want to leave them as is and do peppers/cukes Kratky in them. Can I clean them so that they're safe for family consumption?

I think first step would be to look up MSDS (material safety data sheet) for the particular windshield(?) washer fluid.

You should also try to find out if the plastic is food safe. Recycling numbers 2.4.5 are food safe. It would also be a good idea to find out if the residues can be removed from the drums by cleaning.

Locally, the best food grade 55 gallon drums that are available were from the bakery and from the shoyu factory. If you can find restaurants or food processors that buy bulk products in drums, they may be a good source of recycled food grade drums.
