We parboil for 2 or 3 minutes then drop it in ice water. Then we set it on a towel to cool and dry, then wrap in tin foil and toss it in the freezer in a ziplock bag in batches of 5 or 6. I've read here that many don't bother with parboiling but we do..

freezes real well off the cob, too. we used to make it into an all-day family operation once a year.

Do you know why you parboil them? What does that do?

Parboiling stops the process of converting sugar to starch that occurs naturally in sweet corn.

Forget why you wrap it in tin foil (never freeze on cob here... always cut off and vacuum pack)... Alton Brown (Good Eats) did a show on corn and did the same thing... wrapped it in tin foil put it in a ziplock, sucked all of the air out... Might look at The Food Network or Hulu for the episode

We had about 450 ears this year. We froze about 45 on the cob.

The rest we are scraping and freezing in 6 serving tubs.

This is the second freezer. First one is Full and we wont open it until we're ready to eat.
