Will a male zuccini pollinate a female crookneck?

Will it work? It seems like 'why go through the trouble?', but I have plenty of zukes coming along and the crookneck is just now blooming and its the first. Problem being, I have no male c/n to pollinate it with and none coming for a week or so. What do you guys think?

I may be misunderstanding, but your crook neck will have both male and female flowers.

It depends on what your crookneck is. If it is a summer crookneck, (C. pepo) then it will cross with the zucchini (also C. pepo), but if it is a winter crookneck (C. moschata) then it will probably not.

I'm just impatient, I know the males are coming but I already have females blooming. Yes, It is a summer crookneck and I gave it some help from the zuccini this morning.(Fingers crossed). Never grown either one before, and man is the zuccini taking off! Crookneck grew into a HUGE plant(much bigger than the zukes) but is just now blossoming. Is this normal?
