How do you tell between Male and Female Vegetable Buds?

I understand there are male and female buds but how can you tell? Ive been looking at mine and just don't seem to see any differences (unless they are all male/female). Also, its fact that your plant wont produce unless the male and female are pollinated? If thats so then if you only have 1 plant does that mean it wont produce? I seem to read alot about people complaining they only have all male buds. Can somebody explain the details so me? I'm so confused!

What are you trying to self pollinate? If its squash then the female blossom will have a potential squash, you will notice the roundness under the flower.

The squash family is about the only thing in your garden that has male and female flowers, and they are on the same plant. Most everything else has male and female parts on the same flower.

Well I don't know what needs to be pollinated and what doesnt. I'm very new at this. This is what I have planted:

Black Beauty Eggplant
Bell Peppers (red, green and yellow)
Yellow Pear Tomato
Husky Gold Tomato
Heirloom Tomato (started with an S... long word)
Green Beans
Royal Burgundy Beans
Cucumber
Jalapeno Pepper
Habanero Pepper
Zucchini (2 plants)
Flying Saucer Squash
Spaghetti Squash
Strawberries (4 plants)

Ive seen bees flying around a bit...I'm hoping they are doing what needs to be done be.
