I am using a compost tumbler (with 2 sides) and one of my sides is "finished". I would love to dump it out and start filling it again on that side so I can "stop" the other side, if that makes sense.
how do I store the finished compost? can I put it in a bag for the winter in my shed? do I need to use it right away?
thanks!

The benefits of compost is aeration, water retention and the carbon it provides to improve the soil and feed the soil. The NPK of compost is negligible but it is home to many beneficial organisms that will build the soil community. If the compost is stored and it dries out then you will lose those living organisms. Compost is best spread around as soon as it is ready.
