Plowing Up Your Garden

I have a lot of land and I need to make a path around an acre full of flowers. What is the best, and quickest way to plow up a path of about 4 feet wide, so that it's all soil?

Rent a tiller if you don't have one. Tilling has become my favorite sport next to hot composting.
