I think you have damage from some kind of sucking insects, could be thrips, whiteflies, spider mites, leaf hoppers. They pierce the leaf and suck juices out, leaving a scar. Often the scars get more apparent as the leaf grows and when the weather is hot and dry.
Check your plants over very carefully as some of these are very small. Try holding a piece of white paper under a branch and shaking it. Spider mites or thrips would show up as small dots on the paper.
