New use for used dryer sheets

A great use for dryer sheets (Bounce, etc). Once used, don't throw them away - they work great in the bottom of indoor plants to let the water drain out but keep the soil in.

Excellant idea! Thanks Thumb!

And when you are done with the soil in the pots, discard it and the old dryer sheet into the compost pile and not the garbage can.

You know, a good thing to do would be to look up the chemicals contained in the dryer sheets. (Better safe than sorry)

I would rinse out the softener sheet a few times before tossing it in the compost - only because that same, nice sweet fresh smell is usually coming from a suspected or even known carcinogen (for us, in high doses) so I am not sure what the chemicals are in it, but better safe than sorry!
