Does the sudden change of temperature affect plants?
Plants that are located in windowboxes or in containers in a room next to a window will face sudden temperature changes when the window is opened. Is this something I should worry about?
I would think it would only matter if the temperature change was extreme. If you're growing a tropical plant, and you open the window for more than a few minutes on a day when it's below freezing outside, the plant will probably suffer.
In general, though, plants do better when given good air circulation.
