I am new to this forum and I dream of having a lovely container garden in my small patio some day.
I was wondering if I am late for gardening this year.. we have recently moved to north california. Also if you could suggest me some vegetables/herbs which grow well here.
My patio gets direct sun from 2:00 pm till 7-8 p.m ... around 5 hrs evening sun.

If you really want to grow some veggies you can find mature plants at a store near you. It is late in the season, but not too late for some things.
When you find a store that sells plants or better, a nursery, whatever they have to sell at this point in time you can buy and grow. Read the vegetables forum to see what others are now planning to plant.
