Strawberry question...

I have strawberries planted in a nice size container and they are doing great. I noticed there are long vine-like shoots growing off the side. I think I heard somewhere that if there was dirt for them to lay in it would root and start another plant... Well, it's in the container so there is nowhere for it to root. They are just hanging there in the air. My question is should I cut these "shoots" off or leave them alone? Please advise...

If you want more plants put a pot of soil underneath them with the soil touching them so they root. During this time the baby will feed off the mother so neither will produce berries till they are two separate plants.

When the plant has developed roots-enough to support itself. If you don't want it cut it asap

I did not know that. Hopefully mine do that ;) I have about 1/3 of the plants I want.
