Hey Lynette!

Yes you can grow grapes in a polytunnel here is how!
Choose a spot that is in full sun, you want to prepare the soil by tilling and blending compost into the soil you want to make sure that the soils pH is between 6 and 6.5. You want to prepare the soil before putting it in the polytunnel unless your polytunnel is big enough to work in. You want to plan how many rows you are going to have based on the size of the poly tunnel most “backyardâ€

I think you may be pushing it a bit to try grapes as far north as you are Lynette.
They are a pretty tough plant but you may not have sufficiant a long enough summer to get them to mature even under protection.
They normaly do not need heat but in I guess that night temps in the in far north mid winter must be pretty hard and a little night warmth may well be needed.

The most cold tolerant grapes I know that taste half descent are Beta, Marquette, Bluebell, and Trollhaugen.
Some very disease restant varieties are Oberlin Noir, Mars, and America.
They are not quit as cold tolerant but reasonably cold tolerant.
Marquette is descent for wine and Mars is an ok table grape. The rest are for jellies and jams.

Following Artemesesians mail I found this list of cold tolerant grapes Lynette and from the temps involved they would certainly stand all you could throw at them.

How difficult it would be to get them in the Uk I do not know. The nursery below may be able to help .
