Lemon tree with dying leaves

Hi,

I am a fairly new gardener. I have recently planted a Meyer Lemon tree and the top leaves have quickly started to die. I have a probe to check water level and ph and both seem OK. I also watered in citrus fertiliser when I planted it.

Any ideas on what might be wrong? I am in New Zealand so we are in spring.

Any help appreciated!

Hi Matt.
I'm not sure but the picture of your lemon tree leaves looks suspiciously like scorch damage.
Have you watered your plant in bright sunlight or was the sun very hot soon after you planted your tree?
If it is just scorch then any new leaves forming will be ok.

Hi,

Thanks for your post. I hope that is the case. I didn't knowingly wet the leaves while watering but I guess it is possible. It doesn't seem to have got any worse so will keep an eye on it! There don't seem to be any new leaves forming at all but hopefully some come soon.

Where did the plat come from? Was it locally purchased --was it outside? Did you receive it in a shipment? I'm wondering if the plant wasn't acclimated to being out in the sun, and needed a period of hardening off.
