Pampas grass..too late to burn?
Not a shrub question, but I wasn’t sure where else to post this. I’ve heard that people burn pampas grass in late winter, but I’m afraid it’s too late for that since some green leaves are present. Should I prune it back, burn, or leave it as is?

You have to get rid of all the dead stuff or else it will struggle to grow and look ugly all year.
But it is much harder once it has started to grow. I do think it is too late to burn it. I just take a hand pruner and cut all the dead stuff out. Trust me, I understand it is very tedious; I have found myself in the same situation. But it is the best way to get rid of the dead stuff, without harming the new green leaves.
