Anybody know what this is?

There are many of these growing wild near work (Toronto, Ontario). I don't remember what they look like in the summer, but they're kind of attractive now.

Anybody know what this might be? Would it work if I took a small one and planted to grow as a shrub in the front yard?

I have red osier dogwood that look kind of like that -- bright red in winter. White umbels of tiny blossoms, blue-black round berries after.

Have you ever seen it in bloom?

If it IS red osier dogwood, it likes moist areas and it will root from cuttings.

Oh, that looks nice. I can probably plant a bunch of it in the coming season.

How do you have it grow? In a hedge or individual bushes? How big does it get?
