Is there anything I can do to salvage tomatoes on other tomato plants? How do I prevent it?

I would. Chances of any of it being edible once ripe are pretty small. I don't think it has any affect on the other fruit on the plant if you leave it on but just doesn't look very nice.Cate090404 wrote:Should I go ahead and get rid of the tomato?
Just as a matter of interest the cherry tomato varieties seldom suffer from this problem. You may want to bear that in mind when deciding which to grow (much tastier as well I think).
