kumato seeds
Been starting my seed order. Anyone know where to get Kumato seeds? My son loves them and it was his only request. Wondering if I should just buy some kumato's and dry the seeds myself. Would they be viable?

Kumato is an F1 hybrid so the seeds from the fruits may not produce the same kind of fruit. That said, I grew F3's from seeds collected from fruits F2's a friend grew and thought they tasted pretty good, so you never know. If you have the room, grow a little extra so you have better chance of ending up with something you are looking for.
Here's a REALLY interesting instruction on basic tomato genetics:

Oh! Forgot to answer the question -- yes the seeds will be viable. You can use the fermenting method or just rub in a wire strainer to get the gel off. I think there's a sticky for saving tomato seeds.
