The growing medium looks kind of dry. Banana needs a lot of water during the growing season, especially a baby one which has been removed from the mother plant.

Note though that dormant banana needs to be kept on a dry side.

Where do you live? What is the current climate and temperatures?

I agree, it does look dry. Look for aphids on the stem and in the leaf axils.

Put out ant bait to control ants. I usually wash the stem and leaf axils with water to wash off aphids every time I water. Bananas can be very sensitive to insect sprays. I have used insecticidal soap.

If there are symptoms of bunchy top, it cannot be saved. It will need to be destroyed and buried at least 18 inches deep or burned.
