Zanthoxylum Piperitum - Advice and Tips required

Hi,

I am new to this forum and to Bonsai and I was aondering if I could get some advice for keeping my zanthoxylum piperitum. I have found loads of articles and topics about my other Bonsai (Chinese Elm) but I have found hardly any infomation about my zanthoxylum piperitum or just zanthoxylum in general really.

So any advice for keeping, pruning, watering etc. a zanthoxylum Bonsai would be MOST helpful. Thanks for takin the time to read this.

Vince;

Welcome to the forum.

I don't grow this species, but I do use the peppercorns in Chinese cooking.

Do some research on Chinese pepper or Sichuan pepper. Those are common names for this species.

VincentBlack77,

Sorry, I'm afraid I'm in much the same position as Phil with this species. I have learned to identify it in order to help new owners but that is about it. There have been a few threads here but I can't recall much detailed information on this species either. If you locate a good source please post it here. In the meantime this may help a little.
