Hi Julian, welcome to the Helpful Garderner!

To start there are a bunch of great articles on our general website and give the stickes atop the bonsai forum a read. Be sure to ask a lot of questions and get yourself some basic trees to start playing with.

Just remember to buy trees that are suited to your climate and area and keep them outside where they belong. Note, that this time of year you will need to insulate the pot of your tree. Some enthusiasts actually take their trees out of their pots and plant them in the soil this time of year.

Anyway, do a bunch of research and be sure to ask any questions you have.

Welcome Julian! :)

I split this post out from the other thread because it's a new topic of discussion and didn't want it to get lost in that other mega thread.

Here are some articles on the main site that explains a bit about bonsai.

Cheers.

Julian,

There was a similar question just a few days ago. Have a look here. If after your initial research you have any specific questions don't hesitate to ask.
