Fukien tea pests identifications

Hi,

I have had my 10yr old Fukien tea bonsai for a few months. It seems to like the setup I have put it in and it does not display any signs of disease. Today, however I noticed small white, spotted bumps growing on the newer branches and in some cases on the flowering stems. Under the external white skin, there is a brown shell, the interior of which seems almost "powdery". Pics are attached, can anyone help me identify what they are.

Thanks,
Alex

I expect it is some kind of scale insect, perhaps the one called white waxy scale...

Treat it by wetting a Qtip with rubbing alcohol and rubbing it on each one.

If you have other plants/ trees nearby quarantine this one until the infestation is dealt with to keep them from spreading.
