Juniper Bonsai

My son purchased a juniper bonsai approximately 5-7 years old. It is an indoor plant. It seems to have little bugs on it. How do we get rid of them? Or does he try to return this bonsai? Help!! My son said that the store owner told him the bugs on the trees will not hurt them; they will not wander onto other things. I am new to this and am worried.

And you are probably right to be. Chances are they are fungus gnats and not an issue really, but they can be a vector for bad fungii as well so best to kill 'em, I like Schultz's houseplant spray or any pyrethrin based spray; made from daisies; how bad can it be? CHeck a week or so after your initial treatment for the second hatch...

Scott, thank you so much for a quick reply! I will pick up the spray tomorrow and give it a try. This site is awesome! I will let you know how the bonsai does next week! This new addition to our household is very interesting!
