Hello everybody, I'm completely new to this. I just bought my very first bonsai tree today, but here's the deal, I got no idea of what kind of bonsai this is, I mean, what species is this? Also, I would really appreciate ideas and directions on how I should take care of it, and even some ideas of things I could do with it if possible. I'm posting some photos I took of it below. Thank you.

Thanks for the replies guys, you're right, it is a juniper, a shimpaku, now, I didn't really like the way it was, I wanted it to be in a more upwards position, so I did this...

Can I leave it like this? Is it going to work? Or should I let it be the way it was before? Btw, I'm keeping it outside, by the window as advised. Thanks.

Well, since I discovered that it is in fact a Shimpaku, I decided I would love to see it looking like this after some years...Gnome wrote:ABADDON,
There is no cultural reason to return it to its previous position. This is a matter of styling and is left up to the individual grower. Do you have any ideas where you will go from here? Can I leave it like this? Is it going to work? Or should I let it be the way it was before?

I hope I'm not in over my head. I do realize this is gonna take not just quite some time, but also a lot of work, but I'm willing to learn and do whatever I need to to achieve my goal. Thanks for the help so far.
